Director of Advocacy
Salary Range: $50,000–$60,000
The Director of Advocacy leads CAIR-MN’s statewide advocacy work and manages the Advocacy Team, including the Director of Community Safety and the Housing Justice Coordinator. This role strengthens community protections, builds partnerships, and advances policy priorities impacting Minnesota communities.
What You’ll Do
- Supervise and support the Advocacy Team, including the Director of Community Safety and Housing Justice Coordinator
- Lead statewide advocacy campaigns
- Build relationships with elected officials and policy leaders
- Represent CAIR-MN at legislative hearings and public events
- Monitor policy developments affecting impacted communities
- Coordinate advocacy trainings and public education efforts
- Strengthen partnerships with coalition organizations
- Track advocacy progress and report outcomes
What You Need
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent lived and professional experience
- Experience in advocacy, organizing, or public policy
- Leadership and supervisory experience preferred
- Strong public speaking and communication skills
- Familiarity with Minnesota policy processes preferred
Immigration Attorney
Salary Range: $60,000–$80,000
The Immigration Attorney provides direct legal representation and supports community education efforts. This role helps individuals and families navigate immigration processes and access reliable legal support.
What You’ll Do
- Provide legal consultations
- Prepare and file immigration applications
- Represent clients before USCIS and immigration courts
- Conduct legal research and prepare filings
- Maintain accurate case documentation
- Support Know Your Rights trainings
- Collaborate with advocacy and legal teams
- Ensure compliance with legal and ethical standards
- Participate in case strategy discussions
What You Need
- Juris Doctor (JD) required
- Licensed attorney in Minnesota or eligible for admission
- Experience in immigration law preferred
- Strong legal writing and case management skills
- Ability to manage deadlines and multiple cases
- Commitment to serving immigrant communities
Law Clerk (2 Positions)
The Law Clerk supports attorneys by assisting with research, drafting legal documents, and helping prepare case materials. This role provides hands-on experience in immigration and civil rights law.
What You’ll Do
- Conduct legal research
- Draft memoranda and legal correspondence
- Assist with case preparation
- Organize legal files and documentation
- Support client intake and information gathering
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
- Assist attorneys with legal filings

- Current law student, recent law graduate, or equivalent legal training or experience

Part-Time Communications Manager
Hourly Rate: $30 per hour
The Part-Time Communications Manager supports CAIR-MN’s public messaging by drafting press releases, managing social media platforms, and producing newsletters. This role ensures communication remains clear, accurate, and consistent.
What You’ll Do
- Draft and distribute press releases
- Write public statements and announcements
- Manage social media accounts
- Create graphics and visual content
- Produce newsletters and email updates
- Monitor media coverage
- Maintain website updates
- Support communications for events and campaigns

What You Need

- Demonstrated experience in communications, media, or public messaging
- Strong writing and editing skills
- Experience managing social media platforms
- Experience creating graphics using Canva or similar tools preferred

- Experience in nonprofit or advocacy communications preferred
Development Director
Salary Range: $60,000–$70,000

CAIR-Minnesota is hiring a Development Director to lead fundraising and donor engagement efforts across the organization. This role focuses on building relationships, securing funding, and supporting long-term sustainability.
What You’ll Do
- Lead and manage CAIR-MN’s fundraising strategy
- Build relationships with individual donors, community supporters, and institutional partners
- Identify and pursue grant opportunities and funding sources
- Coordinate fundraising campaigns and donor engagement activities
- Work closely with leadership to set annual fundraising goals
- Track donations and maintain donor records
- Support fundraising events and sponsorship outreach
- Develop donor communications and stewardship plans
- Prepare reports on fundraising progress and outcomes
- Strengthen systems that support long-term fundraising growth
What You Need
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional fundraising or relationship-building experience
- Experience in fundraising, development, grant writing, or donor relations preferred
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Ability to manage deadlines and multiple priorities
- Experience working with nonprofit or community organizations preferred
- Must reside in Minnesota

Civil Rights & Islamophobia Intern
Stipend: $500 total (100 hours)
Schedule: 10 hours per week for 10 weeks (100 hours total)
Location Requirement: Must reside in Minnesota | Hybrid/Remote Work Available
Academic credit may be available depending on school requirements.
Internship may be renewed based on performance, with possible contract opportunities.
The Civil Rights & Islamophobia Intern supports documentation, research, and community education efforts related to civil rights and Islamophobia response. This role provides hands-on experience supporting advocacy and civil rights work across Minnesota and is open to college students, recent graduates, and individuals interested in gaining experience in civil rights, advocacy, law, or public service.
What You’ll Do
- Assist with documenting reports of bias, discrimination, and Islamophobia
- Support staff with research related to civil rights issues
- Help prepare materials for Know Your Rights trainings
- Assist with organizing outreach and education materials
- Support data entry and documentation of civil rights cases
- Help prepare summaries or reports when needed
- Assist staff with community education efforts
- Support public awareness and advocacy projects
What You Need
- Current college student, recent graduate, or equivalent lived or professional experience
- Interest in civil rights, advocacy, public policy, or community service
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Strong organization and communication skills
- Ability to commit to 10 hours per week for 10 weeks
- Must reside in Minnesota
